Pleasure Is Knowledge

Volupté believes reading is a bodily act: we hold a book, turn its pages, and find wisdom through the pleasure of its sentences.

Volupté publishes contemporary memoirs, overlooked literary classics, and new takes on literary history. We also collaborate with local artists on objects that extend the experience of a book beyond the page.

Founded by writer and professor Matthew Frye-Castillo, Volupté takes its name from the French word for pleasure and delight, with roots in the Latin voluptas.
